Variable Frequency Drives & Motor Load Monitors

Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's)

  • JH Process distributes several manufacturers of VFD's. We have applied many VFD's in centrifugal pump applications with great results. Historically many companies do not consider VFD's in centrifugal pump applications. This may be due to the perceived high initial cost and installation, frequent failures and limited experience with VFD's. Many things have changed in the past few years. VFD manufacturers are offering very rugged designs with many features including communication options at very inexpensive prices. With energy costs rising and plants operating on minimal manpower consider areas that are associated with inefficient energy consumption.
  • Throttle valve control for the system.
  • Cavitation noise or damage.
  • Continuous pump operation in a batch process.
  • Parallel pumps in a process with changing demands.
  • Bypass or recirculation line normally open.
  • High pump or system maintenance.
  • Systems that have undergone change in function.

Motor Load Monitors

  • The easiest way to monitor pump problems and conditions.
  • Load controls  PMP-25 monitors power, NOT amps.
  • Equal sensitivity at high and low loads.
  • Detects dead heading, cavitation, overloads, bearing failures, system upsets.
  • Very user friendly,  adjustable Hi/Lo time delays.
  • Lock out prevents unauthorized changes.
  • 4-20ma output to chart recorders or data loggers.
  • Compact NEMA 4  can be flush mount on starter box.
  • One unit, one transformer up to 50 HP.
  • Also used for mixers, fans, conveyers & gear boxes.
